The Journey Missions, Updates

Time for a quick update

I feel like at least once a year I have to write a post saying sorry I haven’t updated this page in ages so here’s an update of everything that’s been going on. This is one of those posts. The global pandemic is to blame for my absence. Everyone in my family is thankfully healthy, but the new normal of distance learning, work from home/being laid off, and the general higher level of stress that we live with now means that I haven’t had the time or the mental capacity to devote to this page. But I do now and while I haven’t been updating this page, I have been productive.

The biggest news is that Thicker Than Blood, the third book in The Journey Missions series, has been published. In the beginning of the year I had set the goal to have it out in time for my appearance at Motor City Comic Con. Well comic con has been canceled but I was still able to meet my deadline and publish it on May 1st. I’ve heard from a few people that it is actually their favorite in the series so far, which is awesome though Family Binds is still my personal favorite. In Thicker Than Blood the team is sent to Earth to participate in a military hearing about the officer exchange program that allows Justin and Desi to serve on Neophia.

I’ve begun writing book four in the series, Shattered Refuge, but set it aside in work on my eco terrorism novel Cleansing Rain. I’m about halfway through the second draft rewrite and should be able to finish that up by the end of month. I plan on finishing the first draft of Shattered Refuge during Camp NaNoWriMo in July.

June is going to be a month a catch up. I plan on doing a lot of work to update the website and get my newsletter set up. You can sign up for my newsletter in the pop up box when you first visit the sight. In June I’ll figure out how to add a page with a sign up as well. And why would want to sign up for my newsletter? Well I’ve been working on a Journey Mission’s short story that will be exclusive to the people who sign up for the newsletter. I’m still putting the finishing touches on it so it won’t be ready to the end of June early July, but it’s the story of who the strongest friendship in the series started.

  1. Ha, I’m the opposite! I have the newsletter signups on a page, but can’t figure out the pop-up. Lol

Glad everything is going relatively well, despite everything.
