Oh hey there, remember me

I do this to myself every year. Every December, while I’m still riding high off of my nano win in November, I make a plan for what I want to accomplish the next year, complete with deadlines. Deadlines that I end up not being able to meet once the new year starts. This year is no different.

Stresses at work and a family vacation in the first part of the year meant that I didn’t have the time or energy to do much writing in January and February. I feel behind in my goals and lost my motivation. It sucks, but it happens. I was able to pull myself out of it in March and April with the help of Camp NaNo and was able to get Family Binds ready to send to the editor.

I had planned to have Family Binds done and to the editor by the end of January so that I could publish it in May. Well it’s May now and Family Binds just went to the editor April 30. So yeah didn’t meet that deadline, but it’s OK because Family Binds is still coming just a few months later than expected. I promise it will be worth the wait.

Now that I’m back in the swing of things I also have a few exciting changes coming to this website. In addition to posting regularly about writing, life, balancing family and work, and my books, I’ve decided to add a section for book reviews. I’m going to crave out some time in my schedule and focus on reading and reviewing Indie books. With so many books out there these days it can be hard to know which one are worth the read. I’m hoping I can help you with that. Though I’ve always been a slow reader so I’m not sure how fast I’ll be getting reviews posted, but to Indie authors every review matters so much. I’ll also have a list of Indie books that I’m planning on reading so that you can check those out and see if you agree with my reviews.

So stay tuned guys, exciting things are coming.
