Another year is gone and what a crazy year it was. There were so many ups and downs, but overall 2018 was a pretty amazing year.
The biggest thing to happen this year was the birth of my daughter, Lillian, in May of this year. My husband and I had been trying to have a second child for several years. It had gotten to the point where we had given up and were coming to terms with the idea that we were only meant to have one child. The next thing I know, I’m pregnant. Those that know me, know that I’m not very good at being pregnant. I was super sick my entire pregnancy. In fact, in ended up losing right about 40 lbs while I was pregnant with Lily. This also means that I didn’t have the energy to write at all while I was pregnant.
With the birth of my daughter, came the ability to eat again and a resurgence of energy. I was able to get back to on writing and editing. In September, I gave birth again but this time to my first book baby. Publishing Crystal and Flint was such an amazing experience. It still feels surreal at times. It was a ton of hard work but I’m extremely proud of the book I put out there and I can’t wait to share the next adventure with you all.
Which brings me to 2019 and everything I hope to accomplish.
I plan to put out the next two books in the Journey Missions series in 2019. The second book, Family Binds, should be out in May. It might be the end of May since I’m a little behind on the edits at the moment, but I’m still pushing for a May release date. I really think Family Binds is better than Crystal and Flint with a lot more action and drama. I’m super excited to share it with you guys. After that it will be full steam ahead on book three, Thicker Than Blood, which I hope to have ready for publication in November.
In addition to those two books I have a lot of other goals for 2019. Here are some highlights:
- Start a newsletter so that I can keep everyone up to date with new releases and events.
- Plan several more in person events
- Overhaul the website and get better at sticking to the blog schedule
- Write first drafts for books 4 and 5 in the Journey Missions Series
- And if there is time complete the first draft for my eco terrorist book, Cleansing Rain, that I’ve been working on as a side project.
I want to say a huge Thank You to all of you who have been on this journey to publication with me. I can’t wait to see what next year has in store!
